New Mechanics

Make use of disguises, cloak yourself, declare suspects, collect evidence and solve mysteries! Check out these new mechanics from Murders at Karlov Manor!

From MTG Fandom:

Two associated new mechanics interact with face down cards: Disguise and Cloak. By paying a permanent’s disguise cost, or using the cloak keyword action on it, it becomes a 2/2 facedown creature, but unlike with morph and manifest respectively, it has ward 2.
Suspect is a keyword action that can be applied to your own or opposing creatures, representing that all eyes are on them as a dangerous criminal. Once a creature has been suspected, it has menace but can’t block.
Collect evidence is a keyword ability representing a cost. To collect evidence X, you must exile cards with total mana value X from your graveyard. Some cards want you to collect evidence, while a few impose it on opponents.
Case is an enchantment type to be introduced in Murders at Karlov Manor.[1] They represent mysteries to solve, and are the third card type type to use the vertical art and rules text design.
Returning Mechanics:
- A returning mechanic is Investigate (Create a colorless Clue artifact token with “{2}, Sacrifice this artifact: Draw a card.”)
- After several sets of typecycling cycles, basic landcycling returns as a fixing mechanic and now is deciduous.
- Although it is not keyworded, several red-white cards feature a mechanic similar to battalion that rewards attacking with three creatures.

Prerelease Weekend

Don’t forget to join us for one of our many Prerelease events happening during Prerelease Weekend! Prerelease weekend starts on Friday, February 2nd and concludes at the end of the day on Sunday, February 4th. We are hosting our kick off event Friday night at 6pm.
