Owl Central Games is a growing local game store focused on providing a community-focused space to purchase, play, and engage with your favorite games, hobbies, and other nerd culture.

The TLDR: We are looking for a part-time retail associate to join our storefront team at our store and game center in Millersville, PA. This person would be responsible for helping customers, maintaining the storefront upkeep, and aiding in our goal to provide a customer experience that is unrivaled.

Your Responsibilities: Retail staff members are expected to be the friendly and helpful first point of contact for our customers. They are expected to be engaging, approachable, and knowledgeable about the products we sell. This includes the following:

• • Sales and Customer Service
    • Greeting customers
    • Building rapport for customer retention (relationship development)
    • Ability to manage customer concerns (refunds, price inquiries, special orders, event details, etc)
    • Managing transactions with our point of sale, registers, and other sales tools
  • Event Hosting
    • Running and Maintaining the Pace of an Event
      • Collect registrations
      • Collect round results
      • Operating the appropriate tournament software for the event
      • Prize distribution
  • Product Display Maintenance
    • Stocking/Restocking products
    • Keeping the retail space presentable and inviting
    • Identifying any issues with products, labels, or signage and reporting them to a manager
  • Upkeeping Store Presentation
    • Routinely taking out trash and replenishing bathroom stock
    • Breaking down empty boxes as we move through inventory
    • Keeping the space clean and tidy
    • Contributing to the completion of routine upkeep and chores

  • Personable: Easily communicates with people, provides a positive and level-headed approach to problem solving, and has experience that reflects such qualities in a retail or customer support role.
  • Communicative: Able to communicate directly and effectively with coworkers, especially during high-stress moments during peak hours. Able to provide and receive feedback with management to elevate everyone’s abilities
  • Organized: Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks during various parts of the workday (including during peak and non-peak hours.)
