Last Friday, our Standard Showdown event was temporary replaced with our Bloomburrow Store Championship. This Standard tournament was extremely popular, capping out at our player limit, and filling up our store with a lot of different Standard decks.

Why was this event so popular? Because the promos where amazing! A playset of Monastery Swiftspears for participating, along with Shark Typhoons to the Top 8 and the highly coveted Urza’s Sagas created an environment where Standard was our highest attended FNM event for the first time since pre-pandemic days at the Game Center.

This event was won by our co-Champions, Ryan and Matthew, both piloting very different archetypes within the classic strategies that Azorius brings to the table. Each managed a undefeated record against many meta opponents, and you can see what each played in more detail.

While this event had no single elimination cut, there were standout competitors with highly successful decks that we thought you should check out. These decks where the best of the room, and if you are looking to hop into Standard (or just need some inspiration), they are fantastic places to start. There’s even a really, really cool Boros Aggro deck that you should definitely look at. 😅
